It has been exactly two months since CrateTastrophe's release on Steam and after some brutal and hard work it is now available on Google Play for current gen Android devices.
I have to say, the move from PC to mobile smart-phones/tablets was much harsher then anticipated. The move alone for a first person shooter (even one as limited as CrateTastrophe) from keyboard and mouse control scheme to touchscreen was formidable.
How to switch from single shot weapons to rapid fire rifles with a touch input mechanic and having that switch feel completely seamless to the user? That was not easy. Everything from camera control, game mechanics, timer, scenes ... it all had to be trimmed, changed, adjusted and modified.
The end result, I hope, captures that same sense of fast paced shooting and puzzle solving as the PC version.
